Frequently asked questions
Is the dB value the same as a sound meter?
No. It is the dBFS difference from an uncalibrated microphone. Distance affects it, so use it only as a reference.
Can I decline microphone permission?
Yes. This measurement needs a microphone; other tools work without one.
Is audio saved?
No. Waveform amplitude is calculated in memory without recording a file or sending audio to a server.
